Organizers LIGNA announces higher than expected participation despite the economic difficulties in the sector and launches two new concepts: LIGNA.TruckStop and LIGNA.Circular.
The exhibitors and organizers of LIGNA 2025 are in full gear for the next edition to be held in Hannover, Germany, from 26-30 May. So far, 1,337 companies have registered for the anniversary event, surpassing the number of participants in 2023 (1,288). Around two-thirds of these come from abroad, and a third from Germany. The reserved exhibition area reaches 112,772 square meters, almost equal to that of 2023.
"The strong exhibitor participation at this 50th anniversary edition pleasantly surprised us. Given the general economic situation and the challenges in the timber industry, we were not expecting such figures," says Stephanie Wagner, LIGNA Director at Deutsche Messe.
LIGNA.TruckStop: Demonstration Trucks for Craftsmen
LIGNA.TruckStop is a new format located in the outdoor area next to Hall 12. Five major companies - Festool, Hettich, Makita, SawStop and Swiss Krono - will be showcasing power tools, accessories and technologies directly from special show trucks.
Hettich's Kathrin Jacobi explains, "'We're coming to you' is the idea behind the 'Hettich on Tour', which will make a special stop at LIGNA 2025."
The program includes hands-on demonstrations and a daily Happy Hour from 17:00 to 18:00, creating good socializing opportunities for carpenters, joiners and fitters.
LIGNA.Circular: Circular Economy in Prim-Plan
LIGNA.Circular will be integrated in the program of the stage in hall 12, realized together with CADEMI. Six thematic areas will present different aspects of the circular economy, focusing on sustainable innovations in processes, materials and products.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research (WKI) and the Association of the German Wood Panel Industry (VHI) will focus on "Circularity in wood-based materials", while hagebau Holzhandel will present "Sustainable aspects in trade".
Andreas Wiemers from hagebau Holzhandel emphasizes: "We are convinced that sustainability requires cooperation. With our campaign for energy-efficient renovations, we bring theory and practice together. The future of building is circular, and we support both professionals and non-professionals in this transformation."
LIGNA 2025 is organized by Deutsche Messe and VDMA Woodworking Machinery and is dedicated to products and services for the woodworking industry, from tools and machinery to surface technologies and automation systems.
