Woodcarving, veneer weaving, curved lamination, premiere furniture collection, wood building materials, design program, talks, discussions, debates and more in just 4 days of fair. As you are used to, we have prepared a diversified program to attract you, make you come and come back. There will be workshops where you can participate with craftsmen to make objects or different activities, you can draw inspiration from their experience, you can take part in debates, you can get answers from specialists in furniture and wood construction. All in a relaxed, pleasant and friendly atmosphere.
Workshops and practical demonstrations:
- Hand waxing demonstration. Fane Pănăzan will show the traditional technique of waxing the circular weaving cloths using a hand tool. We invite you to bring your own circular sails for a free waxing treatment.
- Weaving workshop. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, between 13:00 and 16:00, Radu Vădan will show you how to weave and weave veneers into different patterns. The resulting foil will be applied to the panel without the use of a press. You'll be able to join in with him, and have the chance to steal some secrets.
- Rolling and bending workshop: And since the veneer will be glued on the panels, Radu Vădan and Radu Călian thought to show how curved elements can be obtained by gluing several veneers. We will also have the mold, you will find out how it was made. Also on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 16:00 and 17:00.
Poiana lui Vădan - Open debates on stage
The Vădan's Poiana is a unique debate and networking format dedicated to the wood industry, moderated by Radu Vădan. Here, wood professionals and enthusiasts meet in an informal atmosphere to discuss current industry challenges, share solutions and form valuable connections. Here are the topics we propose at this event:
- Thursday, March 20, between 11:00 and 12:00: Wood, the material of the future in construction? We will debate the importance of wood in construction, exploring:
- The environmental and economic benefits of timber construction
- Debunking myths about safety, durability and fire resistance
- Modern construction systems: CLT, timber framing, post-and-beam
- Current and future regulations for timber construction
- Energy efficiency of wooden houses
- Challenges and solutions in implementing large-scale projects
- Case studies - the world's most impressive wooden buildings
- Friday, March 21, between 11:30 and 12:30: Carpentry as a business. What does it take to get started in this field and grow as a carpenter/designer/furniture maker? We will discuss:
- Initial investment needed for a functioning workshop
- Essential versus nice-to-have equipment
- Financial challenges in the early years of business
- Marketing strategies for craft products
- Developing your own design vision
- How to build a coherent furniture collection
- Distribution channels for premium furniture
- Participation in international trade fairs
The time allotted for each debate will be one hour, but discussions can continue at the booth until the end of the day. After the official program ends, we invite you to stay for informal networking, where conversations can continue over a glass of cold beer.
