idd cologne returns in 2026, this time in strategic tandem with ORGATEC, to create a week dedicated to the entire interior design industry.
After a better than expected debut in 2025, idd cologne (interior design days cologne) is gearing up for its second edition. On October 30 and 31, 2026, the urban event dedicated to premium interior design will once again transform Cologne's city center into a showcase for trends in home design.
A new formula: from office to living room
The 2026 edition comes with a significant change of strategy. idd cologne will take place immediately after the ORGATEC, the international trade fair dedicated to solutions for workspaces and other types of public spaces, which runs from October 27-30. The result? A compact week where professionals can explore the full spectrum of interior design - from corporate offices to private living rooms.
The connection between the two events is not just calendar-related. Under the concept hybridID (hybrid interior design), ORGATEC exhibitors will also be able to attract visitors interested in the residential segment. Halls 3.2 and 4.2 will host this hybrid zone, which opens to the general public on Friday afternoon and Saturday under the idd cologne brand.
Lessons from the first edition
The figures of the 2025 debut explain why the organizers decided to continue: 106 participating brands, 16 locations spread across the city and around 10,000 registered visitors. The urban formula - taking design out of the classic exhibition halls and spreading it across showrooms, shops and alternative spaces in the city center - proved attractive.
„We saw how brands and visitors interacted with the event in different ways - as a source of inspiration, as a platform for design culture and as a meeting point for a community eager to exchange ideas,” said Matthias Pollmann, Vice President Koelnmesse.
Clear focus on the residential segment
If the first edition tested the formula, the second aims to refine it. idd cologne 2026 will focus specifically on the residential sector: quality home furnishings, interior design trends, materials and concepts for private spaces. The event is aimed at both industry professionals - interior architects, designers, retailers - and the interior design enthusiast.
