Designer Spotlight - Koka Nikoladze

Sometimes the craziest ideas produce the most interesting effects. In this case, I am pleased to present two of his creations Koka Nikoladze: wooden music boxes that can produce almost infinite combinations thanks to interchangeable pieces made of all sorts of metals bent into different shapes.

I think this is where I would have ended up if I had continued to play with rulers hit against the edge of the bench, strings held in my teeth and rhythmically pinched or forks turned into tuning forks later confiscated by teachers in middle school.

Enjoy your listening!

  • It is my dream to realize a kind of music box, my own invention, which can be "played" with the bare hand or with a kind of sound stick. The design includes a resonating cavity, a sound suction hole and a series of thin musical transversals made of polyethylene wires. I intend to call it a "squeaker"
