The nZEB Roadshow caravan in Iasi, 29 June - 2 July 2022 is one of the most interesting events of its kind that I have taken part in. The organization, the quality networking, the "hot" but super relaxed atmosphere, the enthusiasm of the participating companies and the tons of information offered for free to those interested were the strong points of this event that I reached thanks to Vlad Liteanu from Litarh.
What is the nZEB Roadshow caravan
nZEB Roadshow Caravan - an event about nZEB and near-zero energy houses, bringing together experts in the fields of building and energy efficiency, suppliers of solutions and technologies for building with high energy performance. A place for expert-level discussions on the nzeb standard, energy efficient and passive houses, materials and innovative solutions used to achieve the nzeb standard in construction.
If you didn't know, there is a European directive that obliges us to build buildings with near-zero energy consumption. Yes, it does, but it's for the greater good because it forces us to build more comfortable and healthier homes. And beyond this obligation, it teaches us how to consume resources more intelligently and responsibly in order to build comfortable and sustainable homes properly. And if we take into account the last few months that have been a rather stark reality, the direction given by nZEB is a natural one. And with that in mind, wouldn't it be better to have a home with near-zero energy consumption? But how, with what and with whom?
Well, this was also the aim of the Caravan: to inform, to give advice, to present effective solutions to achieve the nZEB standard and implicitly to build better. It's a free entry event for anyone who wants to find out how they can have a better, more efficient home, how they can reduce energy costs or how they can join the professionals in the field. And especially for those who work in any building specialisation, for those who (are) building houses, renovating, refurbishing, re-, re-, re- ...
Who attended the nZEB Roadshow Iasi
In Iasi there was an inflation of specialists, of "energy efficiency in construction preachers" from whom we could learn about nZEB, about prefabricated structures, about efficient houses, about how to build sustainably and efficiently in the quality standards of 2022. It was a pleasure to meet again theMarius Șoflete-Creative Engineering, Vlad Manoloiu -nZEBshop and renoVATA, Emil Baciu - CADwork, Horia Petran - URBAN-INCERC and President pRO-nZEB Cluster Romania, Daniel Butucel - Miradex, Vlad Ciobanu - Zecaph and of course Vlad Liteanu from Litarh that only "because of him" I went to Iasi 😉
Specialised companies in the field of construction and energy efficiency gathered under the organisation of the Pro-nZEB Cluster to inform, advise and present efficient solutions in the field. For 4 days there were workshops, presentations and discussions, sessions presenting nZEB principles, workshops to train professionals for nZEB, practical demonstrations and site tours of low-energy housing. Also, those preparing to join the professionals in the field were able to attend dedicated workshops.
Free information from leading building and energy efficiency experts
Those who attended the zZEB Caravan received advice from the best specialists in the field, engineers, designers, energy auditors and passive house builders. They discovered solutions and technologies to the nzeb standard. They could learn about prefabricated structures for house construction, energy performance of buildings, heat pumps, ventilation solutions with heat recovery renewable energy, thermosystems and insulation, air sealing and thermal bridging solutions, passive house standard door and window installation solutions, building energy compliance, how to insulate the house, how to seal it, HOW TO BUILD RIGHT.
Low-energy home site tour and free talks
Times are changing, and so must the way we build. Efforts are being made internationally to reduce the environmental impact of the way we build, and wood is a very good solution. Litarh has been building houses on prefabricated timber structures in many European countries for years, and has recently been joined by Romania. During the Caravan, those interested in low-energy and passive houses were given the opportunity to visit a low energy house site near Iasi and to participate in discussions with those "responsible" for the project in question - the owner, the architect (MIOLK), the structural engineer (CREATIVE ENGINEERING) and the builder (LITARH). The visitors took advantage of this rare situation to have all four in one place and launched discussions and questions.
About the organisers and the next city the nZEB Caravan will reach
The event was organised by the pRO-nZEB Cluster team, with the support of the Moldova branch, in the framework of the nZEB Roadshow project.
pRO-nZEB clusteris a non-profit association, which includes companies in the field of construction and energy efficiency of buildings, established to promote the concept of near zero energy buildings (nZEB) in Romania in order to reduce or eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from building use. The "Caravan nZEB Roadshow is an information campaign to reduce the negative impact caused by global warming and rising energy prices." says Horia Petran, President of the pRO-nZEB Romania Cluster.
The next nZEB Roadshow event will be in October in Cluj. Follow the details on nZEB Roadshow event page.
