Celebrating 70 years in business, WINTERSTEIGER Group has reported record turnover for 2023, highlighting consistent growth in both revenue and profitability. The group, with businesses in diverse areas including equipment for the woodworking industry, recorded a turnover of €246m and EBITDA of €35m, marking an increase of 10% in turnover and 15% in profits compared to the previous year.
"Despite challenging economic conditions, we continued our expansion into niche markets and achieved profitable growth in 2023," said Harold Kostka, group CEO. This performance follows a restructuring last year, which included the spin-off of some divisions in order to intensify customer interaction and speed up decision-making processes.
In addition to its group financial performance, WINTERSTEIGER recorded notable figures in all four of its divisions: Seedmech, Sports, Woodtech and Metals. Each division reported consistent growth and profits.
The Seedmech division benefited from significant investments by major customers in the development of climate-resilient seeds. CEO Christopher Schiehauer also emphasized the decision to expand its product portfolio, which has enabled the group to increase its share in growing markets such as North America, South America and France.
WINTERSTEIGER Sports GmbH grew due to the growth of winter tourism, especially the North American rental market, according to Daniel Steininger, CEO of WINTERSTEIGER Sports GmbH. Although sales of sports equipment declined, the number of overnight stays and rental transactions in this segment increased.
The Woodtech division, although it had a difficult year due to the situation in the construction sector, still achieved growth thanks to strong demand in the composites sector, according to Andreas Doubrava, the division's CEO.
The Metals Division, under the leadership of Thomas Fürkötter, also continues to be profitable thanks to its focus on growth sectors.
