WINTERSTEIGER Group - financial record after 70 years of existence

Celebrating 70 years in business, WINTERSTEIGER Group reported record turnover for 2023, highlighting consistent growth in both revenue and profitability. The Group, with businesses in a variety of areas including woodworking equipment, posted a turnover of €246 million and EBITDA of €35 million, marking a 10% increase in turnover and 15% increase in profits compared to the previous year.

"Despite challenging economic conditions, we continued our expansion in niche markets and achieved profitable growth in 2023," said Harold Kostka, Group CEO. This performance comes on the back of a restructuring last year, which included the spin-off of some divisions to increase interaction with customers and speed up decision-making processes.

In addition to its group financial performance, WINTERSTEIGER recorded notable figures in all four of its divisions: Seedmech, Sports, Woodtech and Metals. Each division reported consistent growth and profits.

The Seedmech division has benefited from the significant investments made by major customers in the development of climate resilient seeds. CEO Christopher Schiehauer also highlighted the decision taken to expand the product portfolio, a decision that has enabled the group to increase its share in growth markets such as North America, South America and France.

WINTERSTEIGER Sports GmbH has grown due to the growth of winter tourism, especially the North American rental market, according to Daniel Steininger, CEO of WINTERSTEIGER Sports GmbH. Although sales of sports equipment declined, the number of overnight stays and rental transactions in this segment increased.

The Woodtech division, although it had a difficult year due to the situation in the construction sector, still achieved growth due to high demand in the composites sector, according to Andreas Doubrava, CEO of the division.

The Metals Division, under the leadership of Thomas Fürkötter, also continues to be profitable, thanks to its focus on growth sectors.
