SCM Group has announced the appointment of Pietro Gheller as Director of the Wood Division. Gheller succeeds Luigi De Vito, who continues his role as SCM Group's CEO. This appointment marks an important step in the company's commitment to enhance its global operations and strengthen its leadership position in the industrial machinery sector.
Pietro Gheller, born in Vicenza 48 years ago, has a wealth of professional and academic experience. He attended the Stockholm School of Economics International Business Programme in 1997 and graduated in 1999 from Bocconi University in Milan with a major in BusinessEconomics. Throughout his career, which began in 2000, Gheller has held positions as a consultant in strategic areas, as a manager in sales, commercial marketing and sourcing, working for major Italian companies, for multinationals in Italy and abroad, in sectors such as FMCG, durable goods and industrial machinery.
In 2019, he joined SCM Group as Sales&MarketsDirector in the Wood Division, managing the management of more than twenty Group branches and the entire operational sales network in Italy and abroad. Under his commercial guidance, SCM has intensified its direct presence in key markets, opening new branches in Turkey, India, South-East Asia and the Balkans, and establishing strategic commercial partnerships, such as the one with the Swedish company Randek AB in the sector of systems for the construction of wooden structures.
In 2022, he was appointed Product&MarketsDirector at SCM, taking over the management of the business divisions and thus the various technologies that make up the group's vast product range dedicated to the entire secondary wood processing industry.
As of April 11, 2024, Gheller took over the leadership of the Wood Division, managing SCM's industrial and customer relations departments, along with the technology and commercial development departments. For me, this is the pinnacle of my professional career, a career that has allowed me to acquire important skills in the direct management of global teams and to adopt an increasingly strategic and results-oriented approach.
