This holiday home in Denmark impressed me because, although white is dominant, it doesn't have that simple, minimalist, Scandinavian design. Although the exterior doesn't differ much from houses in the Nordic countriesThe interior brings more the elegant rustic style of an English cottage combined with the brightness of Greek houses. It's a very successful combination of elegance and comfort, being very pleasant and welcoming.
From the outside they appear to be several houses, but in reality they are all parts of the same dwelling. They are so connected and arranged so that each area has privacy without walls or doors separating them. Exterior walls are mainly what separate the zones.
The dominant color is white. Not only the walls are white, but also the floors, beamsceiling. The living room is generous, and the fact that there's no ceiling separating the loft area from the room makes the space feel much larger. One of the walls is decorated with lots of friezes and polychrome, similar to Greek houses, with the fireplace in the middle. The TV, magazines or decorative objects are "hidden" in the firidges, coloring the white of the wall.
The sofas divide two areas, one for socializing and one further back for those who want to watch TV.
The cracked wooden beams, like the floor, have a white washed finish that does not hide the wood. Halfway through the living room, the beams are covered and a seating or study area is set up, accessed by a simple staircase.
Splashes of color in the room are provided by the floral-printed pillows, like the painting opposite the fireplace. The same floral print can be found in the TV area.
[adrotate banner="37″]Apart from sofas and armchairs, there are few pieces of furniture. They're made of wood, rustic in style, stained reddish walnut and set off nicely by the dominant white.
To the left of the entrance to the living room is a small hallway that leads into the kitchen, built in an L-shape. Storage is also in niches built into the wall, which is a great place even for wine bottles.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need without wasting space. Solid wood countertop is not missing.
Following the kitchen is the dining area, the dining room in our sense, dominated by the rustic wooden table.
Here too, the white walls are preserved, which highlight the paintings, the beams, the flooring and the white washed attic ceiling. From the dining room you can go directly out onto the terrace through a generous, white, double-hinged door with small glazed eyelets and arched arch.
As with the living room, here, too, there is a discreet transition through a side passage into the bedroom area. In this area is the master bedroom, with its generous white queen-size bed with veiled canopy and en-suite bathroom.
The bedroom also has an exit to its own terrace, separated from the rest of the courtyard by the position of the building.
[adrotate banner="38″]Outside the house is equally beautiful and elegant. The combination of the anthracite gray and black wood on the one hand and the white of the windows and roof guards on the other is very successful. The courtyard is generous, with lots of greenery.
There are several places where you can sit at the table, or where you can sip your afternoon cognac in peace. Cognac that you can get from the bar in the courtyard in the same Greek style that reminds you of the beach, the sun and vacation.
An elegant, beautiful and comfortable home, built far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, in a rural area, so that those who come here can fully enjoy the beauty of nature and the peace and quiet that surrounds it.
