Pneumatic nail gun B18N18-0 from AEG - Product of the day in the Smart Shop

Today's product of the day, 17 October 2018, in the shop Cleveris a pneumatic nail gun from AEG. The gun B18N18-0 uses Vaccum Drive technology that provides cordless comfort, eliminating the need for a noisy compressor, bulky air hose or expensive gas cartridges. It has two modes of pneumatic action, full sequential mode for precise actuation and contact mode for a quick fix. The gun can fix up to 1450 nails with an L1850R battery. It comes without L1850R battery.

What is a pneumatic nail gun

A nail gun is a very suitable tool for a builder. It practically replaces the hand hammer and the work of several workers. Nails are forced into wood or other materials (plastic, aluminium) using compressed air, an electromagnetic system, gas cartridges or a small explosive charge.

The first air gun was sold in 1950 and was used to fix wooden floors faster. With this gun the worker worked standing up and could "pound" between 40 and 60 nails per minute. The capacity of the gun was between 400 and 600 nails.

How it works

The pneumatic gun is the most popular and widely used. The force with which the nail is pushed into the wood comes from compressed air which is typically generated by a compressor. The air is used to drive a piston. When the air pressure above the end of the piston is higher than that below it, the piston is actuated and pushes the nail. At the same time the pressure value changes (the pressure above becomes lower than the pressure below) and the piston retracts.

By pulling the trigger the valve to atmospheric air is practically closed and the valve to compressed air is opened. This pushes the piston acting on the nail and pushes it with the force necessary to penetrate wood, plasterboard, plastic or aluminium.

What it can be used for

It is the ideal tool for those who work in construction and have to clad walls with panelling, install wooden floors, fixing guards or other such activities requiring the use of a large number of nails. Roof batten construction, fixing roof planks or loft construction will be done in a much shorter time using such a gun.

If you have projects that involve a lot of hammering nails, the air gun will save you time and energy.

Features of the pneumatic nail gun B18N18-0

The B18N18-0 uses Vaccum Drive technology which allows it to operate without the need for a compressor and without the operator being hindered by the hose connecting the gun to the compressor. Unlike conventional guns, the pressure difference required to operate the system that releases the nail with force is achieved by the vacuum.

The main features of the gun are:

  • total weight of 3,6 kg
  • voltage 18 V
  • Li-ion battery
  • brushless motor technology
  • uses nails between 15,9 mm and 55 mm in length and with a maximum diameter of 1,2 mm
  • magazine capacity 105
  • comes in its own box.
How to use the gun

This is the sequence of operations when preparing to use the nail gun:

  1. Feeding the magazine with nails,
  2. Check the operation on a separate piece of wood,
  3. Fix the gun to the place where the nailing will be done,
  4. Trigger the gun,
  5. Removing the gun from the surface.

It is very important to use protective equipment and especially safety glasses.

If you're a builder surely the video below will awaken your desire to have such tools. Now is the time to take advantage of the offer. Good luck and good luck!
