Entrepreneurship

Information, tips, examples for small businesses and small entrepreneurs in the wood industry

I've avoided doing that here until now, giving business advice. I've always wondered Who am I to give business advice? What great business achievements do I have? I always relate to those with much more achievements than me, whom I follow, respect and draw inspiration from.

Then it occurred to me that I too have wandered through this world. I searched, I hesitated, I hesitated, I made mistakes, I learned from my mistakes, I looked around me for inspiration and information. I am still searching. At different stages I have been helped, I have learned from experiences. Then I asked myself where I would have been if I had known those things earlier. We all need - even if we may think we know and can - to have our beliefs validated or not from other sources. We need to learn from the experiences of others.

That's why I decided to write about business, especially entrepreneurship, to help small entrepreneurs in the wood industry as much as I can. To write for you, the one who now wants to build your future in entrepreneurship. You are perhaps undecided, you need a nudge, someone to tell you what you want to hear (I'll come back at the end with clarifications). Let me write for you, the one who has already started and wants to be consulted, to be confirmed that you are not wrong.

Of course there will be information that you will find in others, much more dedicated and specialized in their writing in the business segment. My intention is to put all this information, tips, examples, in the context of our field, woodworking.

In addition to the texts I will write here on the Wood Magazine, I want to get in touch with you, with as many of you as possible. I want to answer your questions, to help you understand, to get to know you, to get to know your experiences, to help you avoid my mistakes, to give you the entrepreneurial bug. Let's be contaminated.

In the coming period I'll be writing for you about business ideas, about how it's good to think about your business plan. I will write about the balance sheet, the trial balance, the differences between them, how to read them and what information they give you. Information that's good for you to follow, not just your accountant.

I will write about cashflow, why it is so important especially for a start-up business. I'll write about taxes, tax returns, things you might not think about much when you want to start a business.

I will be writing about customers and the market, the things you should think about first when designing a business plan. I will write about marketing and sales, communication and sales channels, strategies, goals and campaigns.

I'll even be writing about CRM, ERP and other initials, about budgets and medium and long term plans, about big goals and small steps. Because you have to set big goals, start small (or not) but do it now! And you know it. Because if not now, when? If not here, in Romania, then where? If not you, then who? I'm here to help you.

P.S. We are different. We don't all consume the same things, we don't all go to the same psychologist. And in entrepreneurship you need a person (a mentor if you want) who understands your passion, encourages you and through what they say and what they do helps you to overcome the challenges, to be better. I think you listen to that person, you are influenced by them, because they are actually telling you what you want to hear. For me that person is Robin Sharma.
