Introducing the Wood-Mizer MR200 multiblade saw with two shafts

Wood-Mizer is launching a new multi-blade industrial saw - the MR200 - a versatile and highly efficient machine with two shafts, each with the ability to mount up to 12 circular saw blades and the capacity to cut timber prisms up to 200 mm thick.

Wood-Mizer MR200

The MR200 twin-shaft multi-blade saw is designed for high-volume timber production operations where prisms are cut into planks. It is equipped with two spindles driven by 15 kW to 30 kW motors, depending on production needs. Each shaft is equipped with up to 12 circular blades with diameters ranging from 200 to 350 mm.

Advance system has the characteristics of a robust, modular table. Adding more modular sections to the feed table allows processing of longer prisms. The minimum prism length is 700 mm - shorter than similar competing machines. Driven feed rollers that are located close to the blades make it possible to feed such short prisms. There are 8 feed rollers in total, 6 bottom rollers and 2 top rollers: 4 are directly in front of the blades and 4 behind the blades.

With the help of optional lasers, the MR200 saw operator positions the prism on the feed table and pushes it gently until it is taken up by the feed rollers.

Control panel intuitively can be placed in a convenient place for the operator. In addition to individual motor control, the console also has an ammeter for measuring the load on the shafts and a feed speed regulator up to 15 m/min.

Adam Kubiak, Industrial Equipment Sales Manager at Wood-Mizer, explains the design features of the MR200 industrial saw.

"We recommend the installation of a feed speed regulator optional electronic, which monitors the load on the shafts, and if the optimum value is exceeded, it automatically slows down the material feed rate. It's a very useful device that contributes to the quality of the material flow and the durability of the machine."

Another useful option is built-in chipper powered by a 5.5 kW motor.
"Anyone who has experience with multiblade saws knows that cutting creates chips, pieces of bark and other products that can interrupt normal machine operation"explains Adam Kubiak.

That's why Wood-Mizer offers the possibility of installing a chipper that turns this debris into fine sawdust, which is then removed from the machine using an extractor. This makes the waste valuable and it is very important to collect it separately and prepare it for marketing as an additional source of income.
Both shafts of the MR200 are easily adjustable in height relative to each other and to the feed system. This feature allows the shafts to be adjusted to the optimum height for the material being processed. It allows the optimum cutting diameter to be used, which in turn optimises the machine's power consumption and load rating.

"When a prism with a maximum thickness of 200 mm is being cut, both blade shafts are used at 100% of their power. When switching to timber with a thickness of e.g. 140 mm, it is possible to adjust the position of the shafts in such a way that the top and bottom shafts have the same load, which is the specific load of a 70 mm thickness. In this case, the wear of the blades will be uniform and the power consumption is most economical."explains Adam Kubiak. "If production is mainly with prisms of a certain thickness, e.g. 140 mm, it makes sense to install smaller diameter blades"continues Adam Kubiak. "The smaller the circular blade, the thinner the cut and the lower the load on the motors, which translates into increased efficiency, energy savings and extended machine life. The flexibility of this equipment makes it possible to save money and increase profits in every case."

In addition, the car has a fine adjustment screw for the upper shaft. It allows the top and bottom blades to be moved so that they cut on the same line. "We recommend that you perform a test cut, then using this screw adjust the position of the upper shaft so that both top and bottom blades can converge perfectly"says Adam Kubiak. "Then the MR200 saw produces high quality lumber with a uniform surface, free of any trace where the saw blades meet. Very few two-shaft multiblade saws in this class benefit from such adjustments."

The Wood-Mizer MR200 twin-shaft multiblade saw is a compact machine with low noise emission.

The experience of woodworkers using these machines has shown that the productivity of the MR200 saw can be estimated at up to 10 m3 per working hour.*
*The performance of each multiblade system depends on the specific parameters of the engines and the wood being cut.
