Take the time to take a closer look at the collection and convince yourself of the benefits of solid oak furniture, Nord Arin extends offer throughout March. Let's see what the Berna collection is all about, what's special about it and what might make you want to buy it.

Oak of the Bern collection

Some time ago I was talking to a friend of mine who is passionate about wood and he was telling me that wood species that have a particular design and texture should be left as natural as possible. Only then can you enjoy that unique and imperfect beauty that only nature can provide. So is the oak in the Berna collection. A wood with an unmistakable personality that should be shown as it is, without artifice that would detract from its beauty.

Oak used in the manufacture of the furniture is cut, dried and treated so that no bending problems or dimensional changes occur. It is impregnated with oils special features that increase its water resistance. Oak is a hard, durable wood, but can still suffer from knocks and scratches. To avoid such problems, surfaces are protected with a hard varnish coating. The varnish is almost invisible, but enough to provide the necessary protection. In addition, to avoid problems with odour or other emissions, water-based varnish has been used.

At the end everything is covered with a layer of wax. It is a special mixture of waxes in which beeswax predominates. This layer provides a pleasant tufting and creates that feeling that the furniture is caressing you.

What the Berna collection is made of

The collection is inspired by the simple furniture found in Swiss mountain villages. Hence the name. The idea of simplicity and rusticity has been preserved, with a slight modern twist. The proportions are well chosen and the quality of the workmanship shows attention to detail.

Berna is a collection of 7 pieces sold separately. You can choose one or more pieces, depending on your space and furnishing needs. There are 2 buffets, a dresser, a cabinet, a dresser and 2 display cases.

The characteristic detail of the whole collection is the design of the doors, which give the impression of having only drawers or small storage spaces, like country cupboards. Not so. The doors have a groove in the middle that gives the impression of drawers.

We said that this collection of living room furniture can also be used as kitchen furniture. Especially the cabinets are very suitable in rustic kitchens. If you add a clay mug and 2 peepholes on the oak polish, the effect is undeniable.

It must be said that the rustic effect is also contributed by the door opening system where a special milling technique was used. With this system there was no need for handles or other pulls to soften or even cancel this rustic effect.
