A necessary tool in any workshop

When we presented Step100X pendulum sawI was saying that a carpenter's first choice when moving to the next level - that is, deciding he needs more than a handsaw - is a circular saw. With it he can cut planks and wood-based panels to the desired dimensions.

In order to get the cuts done well and looking clean at the end, you need to follow a few rules:

  • first adjust the depth of cut and, if necessary, the angle;
  • mark with a pencil or marker the line on which the cut is to be made;
  • always cut the piece face down. This will give you a clean, smooth cut;
  • do not drive the circular saw into the wood until the blade has reached full speed. Remove the blade from the wood after it has come to a complete stop;
  • when cutting, slowly advance the saw along the marked line. This prevents the blade from jamming;
  • As with any cutting tool, over time the blade will need to be sharpened. Sharpen the teeth evenly. Do not delay sharpening the blade to avoid poor quality cuts and the formation of a large amount of wood dust;.
  • when cutting try to hold the saw with both hands. It is a powerful machine and to get good quality cuts it is recommended to have as much control as possible;
  • clamp the saw to the table when cutting. Don't hold the workpiece with one hand and the circular saw with the other because you won't get quality cuts and above all, the risk of injury is very high;
  • choose the correct depth of cut to avoid kickback as much as possible. Kickback can also occur if the cut pieces are not removed or if the blade gets stuck in the panel to be cut;
  • check the material to be cut for nails or other such material that may damage the blade.

By following the above and, using a quality tool such as Circular KS 66-2, you will get correctly cut pieces with a smooth surface and no jagged edges.

Your safety when working is most important

When we talk about safety, we tend to use too many words but follow as few rules as possible. The English say simply - Safety First - but they follow all the rules and use the best protective equipment they can so that working with such tools is always a pleasure.

When working with the saw, don't be distracted or careless, with your mind elsewhere. It's a very useful tool, but it can become dangerous. Wear personal protective equipment. This should include goggles and gloves. There are gloves made of very strong metal shackles. They are expensive, but very useful.

Being an electric tool, make sure you won't get tangled by the cord while cutting. If you don't have enough clearance, use an extension cord, but make sure it won't get in the way while you're working.

Never make adjustments to the appliance when it is in operation.

Good luck and good luck!
