BIFE-SIM 2019, the international trade fair for furniture, equipment and accessories, took place from 12 to 15 September 2019 at ROMEXPO!
Over 230 Romanian and international companies exhibited at BIFE-SIM, welcoming visitors with offers for all budgets, ranging from one-of-a-kind and hand-made luxury furniture to high-end products with a design adapted to the needs of the general public. There was also a wide range of equipment and machinery for the wood industry, aimed at streamlining the production flow and implementing new technologies.
BIFE-SIM was the meeting place not only for Romanian companies, but also for many important companies from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Republic of Moldova, Poland, Spain and Turkey, which contributed to create an overview of the global furniture industry among specialist and non-specialist visitors.
There were also numerous side events at the fair, some of them traditional, such as the Design Conference, with an extremely interesting theme this year, or new proposals, such as the #better Apartment, a project in which we presented for the first time at a Romanian event how an apartment can be correctly organised in terms of surface area and furniture layout.
The National Furniture Design Competition, PROTOTIP stage, organized by the Romanian Furniture Manufacturers Association in partnership with ROMEXPO, "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urbanism Bucharest - Faculty of Interior Architecture, "Transilvania" University of Brasov - Faculty of Wood Engineering and the Romanian Order of Architects (OAR) - Bucharest Branch, has designated its winners on the second day of the fair. The first prize was awarded to a creation inspired by the Infinity Column by sculptor Constantin Brâncuși.
The luckiest visitors won prizes consisting of furniture and interior design items offered by the exhibiting companies in the Visitor's Tombola.
We look forward to seeing you at the next edition of BIFE-SIM to keep up to date with the trends and surprises of 2020 in furniture and interior design!
