Dizainăr brings young creatives to BIFE-SIM 2016

Shortly after the launch of Wood Magazine, I attended the 13th edition of the Cold Design organised by Dizainăr. I told you then how impressed I was with Mihnea Ghilduș and the way he managed to make us discuss, learn, get interested, evolve. I am equally impressed now when I see the effort he is making to promote Romanian design and the young people who have chosen this path.

This year Disband is participating at BIFE-SIM with a 60 sqm stand called New Romanian Design Salon. Since the beginning of August, it has launched a competition for young designers, which resulted in the selection of products to be exhibited at the fair.

How the works to be presented at the Dizainăr stand were chosen

Instructions have been sent out and participants have been urged to register by 24 August, while ensuring that the subject matter to be presented is not just in draft form. Participants were assured that winners will be announced by 2 September.

It happened! The winner of the contest was announced on FB. There were many participants - 41 designers - and 190 items judged. In the tone of the announcement, there was a sense of sadness at having to choose only a fraction of the very good quality products submitted.

I have also said on another occasion that Wood Magazine will make a point of encouraging and supporting wood projects, young designers and woodworking enthusiasts. It is therefore with great pleasure that we list below the winners of the competition organised by Dizainăr for participation in BIFE-SIM.
