Wood-Mizer's MP160 Thickness Leveler and Planer - a new 2-in-1 machine for furniture manufacturers and other woodworking shops

Wood-Mizer has launched the MP160 straightening and planing machine, a new 2-in-1 machine for producing perfectly dimensioned straight and rectangular planks. Efficient and compact, the MP160 turns freshly sawn lumber into perfectly finished planks.

The MP160 has a horizontal knife that works for two cast iron tables - the upper table for straightening and the lower table for thickness planing. It therefore requires no modifications to switch between straightening and thickness planing modes. Simply switch between the two functions easily, without stopping the knife and sawdust extractor. Start by using the top table for straightening - making two adjacent sides perfectly flat and at a precise angle for each. Then use the bottom table for finishing the last two sides parallel to the first two, roughly planing the plank to its final dimensions.

It has a guard that protects the operator's hands during work. The plank support tilts at 45 degrees for processing angled planks. The top and bottom tables can be adjusted as needed, and the material infeed and outfeed tables always remain parallel to each other. The output table can be fine-tuned. Two clamping rollers pull the plank under the knife. The automatic feed system benefits from an industrial gearbox.
