Wood-Mizer presents the SlabMizer plank straightening machine for wide materials

With the increasing demand for high quality finished planks in the woodworking industry, Wood-Mizer introduces the SlabMizer MB200 straightening machine, ideal for wood processors, tradesmen and professional workshops.

Developed in the USA, the SlabMizer efficiently finishes and straightens planks, slabs, lumber and other wide materials with minimal labour.

Compared to traditional straighteners or planers, SlabMizers straighten wider and thicker materials up to 1420 mm wide and 203 mm thick in less time using automatic directional cutter head controls and variable feed speed. For increased throughput, modular 1520 mm table extensions can be added to extend the length of material being processed.

An extremely robust welded steel frame with four adjustable clamps keeps the material fixed during processing. The cutting depth is easily adjusted with a handle on top of the cutting head. A scale below the crank has 0.4 mm increments for precise positioning. You can cut between 0.4 mm and 3.2 mm in thickness in one pass.

The cutting head is coupled to and operated by an electric control console. Using a long cable, you can place this console anywhere on the machine. The console is attached to a steel bracket. Electrical controls include on/off, variable feed speed, and a joystick direction control for X and Y axes and material finishing along or across the grain.

You can opt for manual cutting head operation. By using two push bars on the right side of the head, you can change the position of the cutting head. Once both sides of the plank are straightened, fine finishing is achieved by using the 177 mm orbital sanding head attachment for the desired degree of finish. Sawdust during finishing is easily removed with the aid of a 100 mm diameter extraction port mounted on the top of the cutting head, which can be connected to an exhaust system. It is recommended to connect the extraction hose to an exhaust system away from the operator's location.

With the addition of the SlabMizer, Wood-Mizer offers the full range of wood processing equipment from forest to final form that can turn a log into a kiln-dried, finished wood product.
