Carpenters join Din Lemn Magazine team at "nZEB goes Passive" event in Cluj on 10-12 November

In the last few days we have given you some hints about the participation of Din Lemn Magazine in the nZEB goes Passive, event organized by Marius Șoflete and his team on 10-12 November in Cluj-Napoca, at BT Arena. It's time to tell you more about this participation. Revista din Lemn is a media partner of the event, but our presence will mean more than just reporting what will happen there. The team will be enlarged to include Fane Pănăzan, Radu Vădan, Radu Călian, Mihai Ursu and Costel Pop. They will be present throughout the fair at the Revista din Lemn stand on the 1st floor, very close to the stage where workshops and presentations will take place. They will come with workbenches, tools and their skills. And Fane will come with his complete collection of Stanley rulers. We have prepared for you a program full of information and practical demonstrations that will take place, both at the booth and on stage. We will have a competition and raffle, I will also have presentations on wood finishing and treatment.

What is nZEB goes Passive

Last year the event organized in Cluj by the Șoflete team together with pRO-nZEB clusterwas called nZEB Week in Cluj-Napoca. There were more than 50 exhibitors, 20 workshops, 60 theoretical sessions and more than 4000 visitors. The atmosphere of last year's event is described in full here. This year, the Soflete team is organising nZEB goes Passive where there will be over 100 exhibitors and, compared to last year, many more workshops and presentations, taking place on 2 stages, at the stands and on the outdoor platform of the arena. Organisers expect well over 4000 visitors over the 3 days of the fair.

What is it about nZEB goes Passive? I think many people have already found out what the nZEB standard for energy efficiency in buildings means, especially as it is mandatory to build this way from 2020. Find out more here. Passive house is the maximum level of energy efficiency that can now be achieved in buildings, which is practically what we should all be aiming for. The signs are increasingly clear that we need to be as energy efficient as possible, that the future is about sustainability and sustainability. The event in Cluj aims to inform, present solutions, bring material manufacturers and builders face to face with the beneficiaries so that building can be better and more energy efficient.

What we are preparing at the stand of Din Lemn Magazine

The stand will actually be a full-fledged workshop. It will have 2 workbenches (mihei, as they say in the area), hand tools - chisels, rulers, saws - sharpening tools (stones, batteries, pliers). The tools belong to the carpenters of the team - Fane Pănăzan, Radu Vădan, Radu Călian and Mihai Ursu - who will be working in front of you all 3 days. Fane's full Stanley cabinet collection will also be on display. The craftsmen are proposing to make a ladder handrail, a window and a light fixture, all worked with hand tools. The team will also include a carpenter - Costel Pop - who will be making part of a traditional porch and various joints used in carpentry. He too will bring his own tools.

Those who come to the booth will be able to interact and work with the team members. Because there's so much to do and talk about, we've broken it down by day. Friday is the day dedicated to profiling with hand tools, Saturday is about wood joinery, and on Sunday the finished items will be prepared for finishing and will be finished. Also on Sunday there will be various treatments to remove decay and insects, to protect wood against fire, fungi and mould. Craftsmen will also show you daily how to sharpen and maintain tools so they work perfectly.
