Furniture Production Machinery

With a CNC you can have a profitable business even if you are the only employee of the company

Faggio Ecomob means Gigi Băjeu, graphic designer with experience in advertising production and WM-2128 ATC, the smart machine that can work without assistance. He started his business with a CNC linear cutter, which he upgraded to produce milled MDF panels. As production volumes increased, he wanted a machine that would reduce production time. So, instead of the old CNC that couldn't cope with the new requirements, he bought a CNC of his own. WoodMaticwith nesting table and tool shed.

Most people who produce chipboard furniture in workshops or small factories buy profiled, painted or veneered doors. This allows them to produce furniture that is more easily customised to customers' requirements. Gigi Băjeu of Faggio Ecomob in Bucharest saw the opportunity and started a small business producing MDF profiled fronts on demand. He managed to develop a business using a single machine - a CNC - and being the only employee of the company. The results of the last few months make him think about further developing the company and finding new colleagues to share the business with.

Processing and painting of MDF boards allows for an unlimited number of designs

Introduction MDF boards in the manufacture of bespoke furniture has greatly diversified designs and allowed designers to give free rein to their imagination. Compared to cut and bent chipboard, doors can be profiled in various ways or cut into rounded shapes and then painted in classic or modern colours. This produces furniture in a variety of styles, and the possibilities of profiling the boards make them look more and more like painted wood.

The use of MDF not only has the advantage of easy and diverse processing. The board is stable and there is no problem of dimensional variation due to variation in environmental humidity. After profiling the doors can be painted with resistant materials so that the furniture can be used without problems in damp environments such as bathrooms or kitchens. The profile also allows the use of skids and artificial ageing, just like wood.

Advantages of WoodMatic nesting table CNC

The CNC WoodMatic WM-2128 ATC with nesting table and tool magazine is equipped with Yaskawa servomotors from Japan, Herion rack and pinion system, Germany, Syntec Control System control unit, Taiwan and 12-position linear tool magazine with ATC control. It has a 2100 x 2800 mm table on which the board can be machined easily and with maximum efficiency.

The nesting table makes production more efficient and saves material. In fact, nesting is the technology that, based on existing patterns, finds the best positioning of the elements on the MDF board and optimises the cutting path so that the working time is minimal resulting in a minimum amount of waste. It then generates a cutting order and the numerical code of each operation required by the CNC to perform these operations.

Nesting has important advantages:

  • Increase productivity by reducing working time
  • Efficient use of material
  • Waste reduction
  • Reducing labour costs.
